The End of an Era
With a baby on the way, Valencia was forced to take time off of work. Apparently, the bumbling burglar from the last burglary decided this was the perfect time to try again. Tip-toeing oh-so-discretly up the stairs one night, the wayward burglar began his... well... burglary.

"Oooh, they've moved up in the world since my last visit..."
Unfortunately for Mr. Burglar... his arch-nemesis the burglar alarm was still in the same spot. Valencia was a crook herself, she knew their shifty ways. She wasn't a Criminal Mastermind for nothing, after all. So the burglar was caught red handed and the Zamora's worldly posessions remained unburgled.
The excitement was too much for poor, pregnant Valencia. She started wailing like a banshee, grabbing desperately at her round belly.

"Hello! Woman in LABOR here!!"
What an awful time for a child to come into the world. His first memory-literally-was of the burglary. Everyone else couldn't decide whether to cry or cheer. Sims are, after all, simple creatures.
It turned out to be a bouncing baby boy, whom I named Novio. This name is about to become infamous in this blog. Why? Well, uh, you'll see why in a few generations...

"Phew... I'm never doing THAT again!"
The next morning, things returned to normal. Everyone doted on little Novio. In fact, they did it so much that they were making me angry. What is the obsession with babies and toddlers? They never let the poor things sleep! Always picking them up... and they feed and bathe them entirely too much. Its downright annoying.
Once again, a nanny was unnecessary. That's the good thing about having elders milling about the house. They're not retired, but when you're at the top of your career, you've really got nothing better to do than care for your grandchildren.
Unless you're Pris and Steve, that is. Those two decided enough was enough. Pris showed agility uncommon in elders as she lept at her son-in-law. They brawled in the kitchen. No one seemed to notice. They all knew it was inevitable. I think they were at work, otherwise they'd be huddled around placing/taking bets. Those wacky Zamora's...

"Ha! Who's the bone bag now, little man!?"
Of course, Priscila won.
When little Novio finally turned toddler, I tried to direct Jonathan to teach him to walk. Jonathan had several wants related to his grandson, so I thought it'd be nice to give him a little aspiration boost.
Unfortunately, Grimmy had other plans. He swept into the house and hauled Jonathan to the netherworld. Jonathan didn't die in platinum.
As for Novio, aside from being scarred for life, he had a great personality. His points all together came to 35... and he was extremely outgoing. Not quite sure where he got that from. Valencia and Steve will hang up the diapers and pacifiers after Novio turns into a child.

"Time to go, old man."
A few days passed and Novio suddenly became a child. Valencia wanted him to get into Private School, so I had her phone the headmaster. He came over the next day and everything was going great until... Grimmy came waltzing in.
He had come to take Pris. To say I was a little upset would be an understatement. She was one of those sims who had a personality, and stood out quite a bit. However, I dislike using the elixir for the most part... so it was her time to go. At least she went on in platinum.
This also meant that from now on, the Headmaster would be bugged. NEVER invite the Headmaster over when an elder is set to die.
While all this mourning was taking place, Steve found it appropriate to laugh his little sim butt off.

"Bahahaha! Good riddance, ya old bat!"
A few days later, the family had a ghostly visitor. Jonathan popped up to mourn the passing of his wife... and then promptly left. Like I said, ghostly activity didn't start for quite a bit... and I bet I know who the instigator was!

"Now I'm stuck with her for eternity! Noooooo..."
Meanwhile, life in Zamora Manor goes on. Until Steve continues the family tradition and tries to fix something. He got the shock of his life! He survived, of course, but was a bit wary about going into the kitchen for awhile. He took his meals in the living room.

"Hoooonnneeeeyyy calllll the *zzzttt* reeepaaaaiirrrmaaaaannnn *zztZzztt*"
I have a thing for planning ahead, so I started scoping out a girl for Novio. If you remember, this town is a veritable sea of NPC estrogen... so there were plenty to pick from. I settled on Celeste, the mail carrier. I love that name, and she's not a bad looking girl. Plus, she has black hair. I wanted to add that into the Zamora gene pool.

"...Why are you looking at me like that?"
Finally, Novio becomes a rather attractive teenager. He's got his father's nose, but that only looks odd from the side. I rolled Fortune for him (YAY), so he's going to be one happy sim. Meanwhile, his parents make out vigorously behind him.

"Just nod and smile... nod and smile..."
I took a nice little family dinner shot for kicks. Everyone eats properly, instead of shoveling the food into their mouths like dearly departed Jonathan. I miss his attempts at dirty jokes.

Not exactly a warm and fuzzy family moment.
Novio wanted to become an overachiever, and his parents wanted the same thing. So, being the kind sim master that I am, I helped Novio achieve this. Everyone was delighted and shot straight into platinum. Novio really liked making money and being the best. I don't think he once wanted to buy a mere shrub. No, his mind was on bigger and better things!
Valencia and Steve had also turned into elders by this point. I don't have a picture of it, but you can see Valencia in the following shot.

"Look ma, straight A's AND a killer paycheck!"
Next time... Novio becomes an adult and has difficulty adjusting to 'Legacy' rules. He's good with the money, but not with the ladies.
I have some RAM on the way. I decided to grab a stick because I finally turned textures on high, and wow! I love it. I can't bare to part with it. Here's hoping it arrives soon, as my sims are a tiny bit sluggish.
